As a plus size woman, I know how aggravating it can be when a great outfit simply doesn’t look good on my body type. Practically every plus size woman goes through this sooner or later. The answer to the problem could be to artificially change your shape.
There are a host of ways you can go about changing your body shape. You can work out, diet, take pills or even make an appointment to go under the knife with your local plastic surgeon. For most of us, these options either require time we don’t have, money we don’t have or too much risk. Fortunately, there is a relatively cheap way to change your shape for a period of time that comes with no risk – the undergarments known as plus size shapers.

They are undergarments that are design to pull in over here and push out over there. Think back to women’s looks 100 years ago and you quickly are reminded of the classic body shaper of that time – the corset. The corset was used to push up the breast and pull in the waistline to create an attractive hourglass figure. Personally, I think it most created the look of a woman who was having a hard time breathing, but who am I to complain!
Now, don’t panic. Modern body shapers are not uncomfortable like the corsets of the early 1900s were. The idea with body shapers today is to use material, often a microfiber, to redistribute your shape. Let’s look at a classic example.
The modern panty girdle is a classic example. It looks like a long pair of underwear that extends from the upper waistline down to the thighs just above the knees. The material will give, but at different rates. For instance, the area covering the derriere may be very forgiving while the area wrapping around the waist may have little give. The effect is to create a flat waistline while leaving the rest of your body shape alone.
This approach to modern plus size body shapers is ingenious when you think about it. As plus size girls, we each have our good and bad body areas. With body shapers, you can buy a version that addresses your problem area without interfering with your good areas. It doesn’t get much better than that!
